MTSH and GCL SI Partner on Renewable Energy Projects in Myanmar

Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings Public Co Ltd (MTSH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chinese energy firm GCL System Integration Technology Co Ltd (GCL SI) to explore renewable energy opportunities in Myanmar. The MoU was signed on 11 June 2025 in Shanghai, with MTSH announcing it to shareholders on 16 June.

The MoU states that GCL SI and MTSH plan to work together to create a joint working group to efficiently evaluate the project’s viability and investigate the feasibility of constructing solar power systems (including Floating Photovoltaic Power Plant and Centralized Photovoltaic Power Plant) with a capacity of up to 100 MW from renewable energy in Myanmar.

GCL SI specializes in renewable energy, solar PV materials, green city development, and financial services. The partnership aims to support MTSH’s energy needs and promote sustainable power solutions in Myanmar.
