MDY Intl Trade Fair & Investment Forum 2023 fostering regional entrepreneurial connections

THE Mandalay International Trade Fair and Investment Forum 2023, held at the Mandalay Convention
Centre, has attracted numerous visitors, according to reports. The event, organized collaboratively by the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI) and the Chamber of Commerce of Dehong Prefecture, is slated to run from 9 am to 5 pm on 20-22 December. It serves as a crucial link, connecting Mandalay entrepreneurs with countries in the region. U Win Htay, Chairman of the MRCCI, stated, “Since representatives from ASEAN businesses came and showcased their enterprises, we believe our entrepreneurs will gain foreign connections. We signed MoUs with businesses from Viet Nam and China today.”

The event aims to identify business opportunities in Mandalay and encourage local micro, small, and
medium enterprises through business matching with foreign companies. Dr Tun Tun Aung, Managing Director of the Mandalay Myotha Industrial Park Development Company, said, “We exhibited the investment potential of our industrial park at this event. Positioned at the heart of Myanmar, it is accessible by land, sea, and air routes.” He invited everyone to the forum to witness the innovative ventures awaiting Mandalay’s future.

The forum features three discussions on investment potential in Myanmar: the agriculture and livestock
sector on 20 December, the hotel and tourism sector on 21 December, and the green energy MSME sector on 22 December. Visitors can explore over 240 exhibitions at the event, showcasing items ranging from household goods and medicine to solar and electric vehicles. Entertainment programmes, lucky draws, and game activities are also available to keep visitors engaged. Participating countries include Myanmar, China, India, Bangladesh, and Viet Nam.

Mandalay to host International Trade Fair & Investment Forum 2023

THE Mandalay International Trade Fair and Investment Forum 2023 is scheduled to take place at the Mandalay Convention Centre in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay Region, as announced by the Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI). MRCCI

Chairman U Win Htay stated that entrepreneurs from upper Myanmar and abroad will showcase their products in 262 booths at the forum, scheduled from 20 to 22 December.

“There are over 70 booths from China set to be opened. Indonesia also has a list of booths to participate in. The products that will be displayed include foodstuffs, consumer goods, and agricultural materials,” mentioned U Win Htay.

Additionally, agriculture,livestock, tourism, and energy forums will be incorporated into the event.The Mandalay International Trade Fair and Investment Forum was held in 2019 in Mandalay.

2023 Myanmar International Textile and Machinery Fair scheduled in December

The 2023 Myanmar International Textile and Machinery Fair sponsored by the Department of Commerce, Zhejiang Province, China, is scheduled to be held from 8 to 10 December at the Inya Lake Hotel in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, according to Daw Khine Khine Nwe, General Secretary of Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association.
The expatriate garment associations operating in Myanmar such as the Korea Garment Association in Myanmar (KOGAM), Japan Garment Manufacturers Association in Myanmar (JGMA), and Hong Kong Myanmar Manufacturers’ Association Limited-HKM MA will cosponsor the event while also running booths in the fair.
“Each and every country has different tastes in terms of clothing, fashion, and design. However, they all like good quality and innovative products. Since this exhibition will promote the products made in Myanmar, we will work together with international partners such as China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, etc. The high quality of locally manufactured products will also be seen significantly in the show, and we should be proud of that,” said Daw Khine Khine Nwe during a press conference for the event held at Time City, Kamayut Township on 10 November. At the exhibition, 25 brands from China, products of more than 100 manufacturers of textiles, garments, shoes and bags in addition to garments, shoes and bags produced locally will also be displayed.
ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX) representatives from ASEAN countries will also share the future prospects of the textile and garment sectors of ASEAN countries through panel discussions. Those who will come to the exhibition will have the opportunity to communicate directly with the representatives at the booths and will be able to promote joint ventures in related areas.

Mekong-Lancang Fruit Festival 2023 (Myanmar) planned in November

The Mekong-Lancang Fruit Festival 2023 (Myanmar) will be held in Kunming, city of China’s Yunnan Province from 17 to 19 November, where Myanmar fruits will be displayed and sold, according to Daw Naw Mu Takapaw, the Director-General of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization under the Ministry of Commerce.
“Since this festival is held in cooperation with the Mekong-Lancang Economic and Trade Development Promotion Centre we will be able to sell more Myanmar fruits to the Chinese market,” said Daw Naw Mu Takapaw.
In the festival, an opportunistic event for Myanmar to penetrate the Chinese fruit market, Myanmar entrepreneurs will display and sell butter, pineapple, macadamia, grapefruit, watermelon, cucumber, mango, mangosteen, rambutan, durian, passion fruit, walnuts, konjac, tea, coffee and black cardamom produced in Myanmar.
Market promotion talks about Myanmar’s potential fruits are scheduled to be conducted followed by a PowerPoint presentation about fruits produced in Myanmar and business-to-business meetings to be able to end up in singing trade contracts.

Myanmar entrepreneurs invited to World Food India 2023

Businesspeople in Myanmar have been invited to participate in World Food India 2023, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from 3 to 5 November, as announced by the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
The event will feature participation from food manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, logistics companies, cold storage operators, entrepreneurs, and retailers from various countries.
The exhibition will offer opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships, with discussions focused on various topics and countries. Moreover, participating food manufacturers and suppliers can explore opportunities in India’s agriculture and food production sectors through their involvement in the exhibition.
For those interested in joining as a partner country, a booth covering at least 400 square metres is required. Meanwhile, those participating as a focus country must have a booth covering at least 200 square metres.

Canton Fair welcomes Myanmar entrepreneurs in Oct

The 134th Canton Fair or China Import and Export Fair is scheduled to be held from 15 to 31 October in Guangdong, China. Myanmar entrepreneurs have been invited to join the Canton Fair, according to the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
Promotion Conference of the 134th Canton Fair was held at Wyndham Grand Hotel on 22 August. Mr Quyang Daobing, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar and U Aye Tun, vice president of the UMFCCI gave the opening remarks respectively.
Mr Zhang Sihong, vice president of the Chinese Foreign Trade Centre, welcomed the participation of Myanmar companies as the RCEP members and developed countries will join the Canton Fair.
Additionally, a series of forums, product launches and trade talks will be included as well. This Canton Fair will help bolster Myanmar-China trade and create business opportunities.
Central executive Dr Aung Thein of the UMFCCI also shared his experiences of the Canton Fair at the conference.
Moreover, the Online Canton Fair Platform is open to manufacturers and international buyers. This fair serves as a great platform linking international suppliers with buyers and an important channel for China’s foreign trade and open policy. It is the largest trade fair in China.
The 134th Canton Fair will be held on online and offline platforms, featuring quality products with 74,000 booths. China (Kunming) Import & Export Fair invites Myanmar businesspersons

China (Kunming) Import & Export Fair welcomes Myanmar businesspersons, according to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
This 7th China (Kunming) Import & Export Fair, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the government of Yunnan Province of the People’s Republic of China, will be held between 16 and 20 August at Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Myanmar businesspersons were invited in June.
Mr Xie Ming Gui, chair of the Yunnan Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar and officials of the UMFCCI led by vice president Dr Win Si Thu discussed matters on 17 July for Myanmar’s entrepreneurs from the respective sectors to participate in the fair.
Additionally, famous businesspersons will join the fair. Therefore, Mr Xie Ming Gui invited Myanmar’s businesspersons to showcase Myanmar’s products. Business forums and talk shows will be included in the fair as well.
The fair will be held both online and offline, covering an area of 150,000 square metres with 15 halls. The three-square-metre booth will be charged 6,500 Yuan.

2nd Ho Chi Minh City International Exhibition on the Food and Beverage Industry 2023
